Greetings,
I had a hole in the side of my boat that I filled in with PC-11 marine epoxy. It's ready for paint. I'd like to know how to apply Gel coat paint and if it is necessary to use a primer on the epoxy and existing gel coat that I have sanded to create a bond. The area I need to paint is no bigger than 10 sq inches. Can I buy the primer if needed and gel coat in a spray can or only in brush on cans? Matching the color is another can of worms. Perhaps a auto body shop would have the products I need.
Thanks for your insight.
Dave
Don't know about the primer. I don't think gel coat is supposed to be exposed to the air so you cover after you apply.
If you are this finicky, find someone who is a pro. And a good color match takes experience. Not much help, I'm afraid and you probably knew all this.
