Boat Type: HUNTER HORIZON 26

« on: December 06, 2011, 07:09:35 am »

I have a Hunter Horizon 26 and am having difficulty setting the mast pre-bend. No matter how much I tighten the capshrouds the mast does not bend aft as it should. Any suggestions?

The other variables are:
position of mast butt, (for more pre-bend move aft)
position of mast at deck (partners, for more pre-bend move forward if possible)
Forestay length: to ALLOW more pre-bend you would ease)
Overly tight lower shrouds can also restrict pre-bend.
I believe you also have an adjustable backstay on this boat. But technically this wouldn't affect 'pre-bend'.

I don't know much about the Horizon but these are the basic things that come to mind.
