Boat Type: Nicholson 43

Dear Sonosail,

Summer 2008 I bought a Nicholson 43. I was told it was designed by Peter Nicholson.
After I bought it I heard and found several names for the designers. S&S, Peter Nicholson and David May.
On the drawings of the sail plan that were still with the ship I only found the name of the yard.

I have posted a question about this at the S&S site and got the following reply from them:

----------------
Dear Mr. Jonker,

Thank you for your inquiry and sorry for the delay in our response.

We believe this Camper & Nicholson 43 is not S&S design and we have no knowledge who the designer was.

Best regards,

I think it is save to say that it was not S&S.
I'll keep you posted if I find more.

Best regards,
Gerard

Thanks for the information.
For now, will remove the S&S designation.  A month ago I was exchanging Emails with a person who worked for C&N during this period,(A designer who later went to work for Dave Pedrick).  He also informed me about some errors on the site for a number of C&N models.  I bet he will know the real designer, even though it was probably someone 'in-house'.
In addition, he might have an original brochure or drawing for this model which is always what I am looking for.

This from Jeremy Mcgeary, who worked for the company:
Randy,

I suspect the designer of the Nicholson 43 was Ray Wall. He was the in- house designer there for several years and did the Nicholson 55, 35, and sundry others.

Jeremy

I'm not completely convinced however. The Nicholson 43 was slightly earlier than these others.
