This appears to be a pretty rare model, possibly only sold in France. Have a picture, but unfortunately I don't have any other information.

Is this the same as a "CALIFORNIA BENETEAU 470"?

I don't know. Does it look like the boat in the photo?  (Nothing to do with Int. 470 Dinghy)

For some reason I can't view the photo, I just get a "HTTP 404 - File not found" and "Oops! This link appears to be broken."

Here are a few Beneteau California 470 for sale with photos:

Thanks a lot. For some reason I wasn't able to find anything like that. From one of the photos I can see that it must have some kind of keel centerboard arrangement. There doesn't appear to be any kind of trunk visable from the cockpit.  One of the ads provides a number for the displacement.  Unfortunately few other specifications.  The Beneteau site provides a place for an original brochure request.  I may just see if I get a response.
Again, thanks for you help.

I found another one for sale with a few more dimensions:

http://www.leboatshop.com/uk/consult2.php?ID_article=158

BENETEAU CALIFORNIA 470
Nom: "Sorloc'h"
Année: 1984

This pretty boat has been renovated by The Boat Shop in 2008.
The hull is painted red, and there are new wooden gunwhales, wooden seats in the cockpit, new wooden washboards and hand rails.
Length 4.70m and beam 2.12m
Depth 1.45m
Main and jib in good condition.
The forward cabin has 2 berths.
There are also new tinted pexiglass windows.
4 people
A VOIR ! A GOOD BUY.

And this site seems to indicate they were built from 1983 to 1986:

http://www.argus-marine.com/argus-beneteau-california470-45-3597-categorie.html

Another site seems to indicate the draft is more likely 0.45 which seems to agree with the photos:

Excellent!  You deserve some kind of award. Basic dimensions, and I even have a reasonably reliable year for when it was first introduced which is a lot later than I suspected. (mid 1980's)http://sailboatdata.com/viewrecord.asp?class_ID=6113

Interesting arrangement with the outboard. It looks as though it might even have some sort of lifiting mechanism.

I raised the max file size limit.  Haven't tested it yet to make sure it actually makes any difference.
At some point, I'm switching to the vbulletin software. (Unfortuntely it's not free like this one.)
