Boat Type: 1977 Seafarer 26

« on: April 07, 2010, 09:55:54 am »

Need information on the rudder assembly for the 1977 Seafarer.
Is there any O&M manual or a drawing showing the mechanical details
for the rudder assembly.
Tiller is lose and does not respond well under load in winds in the 18-20
knot range.
Seems like there should be some type of journal bearing for the tiller
shaft and some type of plate or kingsbury thrust bearing to hold the
shaft assembly from falling down.
Would like to have some idea of construction before and number of parts
before I start the inspection process.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would try the original designer: They probably have as much orginal information as anyone.
