Boat Type: Beachcomber 25

« on: November 07, 2010, 03:43:42 pm »

Hello All,   Just acquired an old (1981)  Beachcomber 25 designed by Walt Scott, built by Marine Innovators in Pinellas Co. Florida.  Have read both that ballast "shoe" was iron and also read that it was lead.  Does anyone know for certain which material it is?  I'd sure like to know.  Also, I have searched the boat over and cannot find a series number.  Does anyone know how this can be learned?  Thanks a LOT!

Haven't seen  a lot of information on these. I thought there were 2 versions. One being more of 'trunk' centerboard.  In any case, if this boat is on land, it should be pretty easy to figure out what type of material it is.
