Thanks very much. I knew about this one but really didn't have enough to go on.
Was there just one builder?

Thanks for that.

Dave Blundell (builder of the davidson 28) built the first 10 in solid GRP, Export Yachts Ltd brought the molds and built the next 30 or so in GRP Balsa Core

Excellent!
You have hereby been awarded the position of sailboatdata.com's designated expert on boats from New Zealand emiritus!.  Your next mission, should you choose to except it, is to bring forth detailed information on the TOWNSON 32 & 34.  This should, in no way, hinder your normal function of minimizing the deficit of knowledge that exists here at sailboatdata.com  concerning all sailboats of New Zealand.
Should you fail in your mission, we will still very much appreciate the information that you have contributed.

Boat Type: Davidson 35 (Cruising)

I have one of these balsa core Davidson 35s.  Though mine has a fairly conservative rig, (do they all?), I'm happy with her so far.  I'd like to get some info on her early days but haven't had any luck tracking down previous owners.
Does Export Yachts still exist in Nelson?

Terrific.  Thanks a lot. I managed to find out a small amount about Alan Wright and have also included his Tracker 5.5. (I think this was his first design).  There are so many  boats from New Zealand that I've never heard of.

Thanks. Just noticed that there was also a Chico 40/42, also by Mull, built by Eade.  Some were built for the NZ Navy???

Yes, there is a Chico 40 and a Chico 355. They built 5 Chico 40's for the NZ Navy and 4 of them are still in service!
