There is a website and forum for the 445 and 485 at: http://445et485.free.fr/   their very lively forum: http://445et485.free.fr/forum/  (too bad it is not on their own fqdn.)

Here's a list I've put together of Gouteron boats I could find:

    * Chergui    (9 meters)      first built: 1970     last built: 1976
    * Ghibli    (6.6 meters)        first built: 1970     last built: 1975
    * Mowgli (3.5 meter)
    * Simoun (AKA 445)        first built: 1960     last built: 1980
    * Simoun 4.60
    * Simoun (AKA 485)
    * Simoun Junior
    * Super Simoun 580
    * Super Simoun 800              first built: 1967     last built: 1982

do you know this site btw? It's like the boat blue book here:
http://www.argus-marine.com/recherche-argus-modele-S.html don't have everything, but a lot. Mainly production dates.

Lots of info on these too. Looks like I better get busy  ;D I'll cross check these with your site, and see what I can add.

Thanks.
Have now added all of these except Simoun Junior. What does the  'Simoun' prefix indicate?

Oh I'm sorry. I added the AKA, as Also Known as, because they are just frequently referred to as the 445 or the 485.

Wow! A new First 30 by Juan Kouyoumdjian. By the looks of the stern though, it's looks like it would be great reaching in 40knts of wind on the Bay of Biscay, but struggle in anything less then 15.  Tell me I'm wrong. Actually, it would be more helpful if you told me WHY I'm wrong.

And here's another silly opinion you are free to ignore:
This is a man that should seriously think of changing his last name, if only from a marketing point of view. (although I have heard that he is releasing a new hip hop album under the name  'Juan J'.)

If you find some, let me know. There is a guy a this site: www.cvrda.org
that is real expert on French dinghies of that era. You might try over there.
