Frederick R. Parker
1912-1984
Frederick R. Parker, M.I.N.A., served his apprenticeship with Berthon Boat Co., Lymington, and was Chief designer to Frederick Sheperd, M.I.N.A.. During the Second World War he was a design draftsman at the English Admiralty and later became a Lloyds Surveyor. He held positions at Dorset Yachts, Co., Poole, and Woodnuts, before starting his own firm in 1948. During his career he designed hundreds of boats, power and sail.
A few of his designs were built in series of fiberglass during the 1960's, but it has been said it was not a material he favored.
