It seems nearly certain that the hull of the TAIPAN 28, at least, is a copy of the NEWELL CADET (aka OFFSHORE 27), built by Cheoy Lee Shipyard, HK. Interchem Engineers Ltd. was located at Pak Sha Wan, outside Sai Kung (HK).
