The BB 11, BB 17, and BB 35 were designed and built by my father, Borge Bringsværd in Drøbak, Norway.
My father was a very experienced boat builder when he, at the age of 53, took up serial production of mahogany sailing boats. Before that time he had built a wide range of working- and mostly pleasure boats.
During a period of 20 years, from 1956, he produced 1200 BB11s, 350 BB17s and 3 BB35s. Later he produced 2000 Yngling sailing boats (fibreglass hull).
The BB11, in particular, became a great success. 850 boats were exported to the whole sailing world: North America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
My father was born in 1904 and ran his boat yard at Husvikholmen, Drøbak, Norway for more than 50 years. When he died in 1982 he was a well known and respected boat builder and designer.
The BB boat yard was closed down in 1984.
