Gibbs Boat Co. (USA)
Founded by Richard Gibbs (1929-2009), probably around the late 1950's? (Gibbs became a sailing luminary partly because of his later partnership with Rod Macalpine-Downie and the boats they designed for Chrysler Corp.))
Gibbs Boat Company was located near Toledo Ohio. They specialized in small one-design racing sailboats, and later, a premier builder of catamarans.
The company also had their own sail loft on the premises.
It was destroyed by fire in 1961 and then re-established at La Salle, Michigan.
Purchased by MFG Corp. (SailMFG) in the 1970's.
