Knutson Shipbuilding Corp.
The Thomas Knutson Shipbuilding Corporation was started by Thomas Knutson at Halesite, Long Island, NY (USA). It was passed on to his sons and then his grandsons. Over the years the Knutson name has gone on hundreds of yachts, both sail and power. During World War II and the Korean War the company built tugs, sub-chasers, rescue and patrol boats. Today Peter Knutson, grandson of the founder carries on that tradition, utilizing some of the same facilities that built those ships to make major repairs on some of the finest yachts in the Northeast.
