Seafarer Yachts

Seafarer Fiberglass Yachts, Inc., of Huntington, New York began as the US distributor for the SWIFTSURE, MERIDIAN, and RANGER, all designed by Philip Rhodes. These were first built at the Amsterdam Shipyard, Inc., by G. DeVries Lentsch, in the late 1950's. In 1965, however, all production moved to a new plant in Huntington, NY. At around this same time, production of a Bill Tripp designed 31 footer began. A Tripp 39 footer was later added to the group. During the '70's, most designs were from McCurdy & Rhodes. These were probably the largest group of models produced, including another popular SWIFTSURE. Other yachts included 48 and 23 footers by Sparkman and Stephens. Seafarer also built some of the 31' ATLANTIC Class sloops, designed by Starling Burgess. They also offered many of their models in kit form.
