Cortland Steck
Having been a sailor and avid racer of both sailing dinghies and offshore sailboats since the age of seven, Cortland Steck graduated the New York Institute of Technology in 1976 where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, after which he continued to expand his studies and in 1979 graduated the Westlawn School of Yacht Design. In 1984 he established Cortland Steck Yacht Designs, has over 5000 boats to his design in service, and is a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.
