Ralph E. Winslow
1886 - 1957
Ralph Eldridge (Ralph E.) Winslow naval architect and author was well known for both power and sailing yachts. In 1904 he began his career at the firm of Small Brothers, Boston, Massachusetts. He later worked for William H. Hand (1875-1946) and was chief draftsman at the firm of Swasey, Raymond & Page from 1909 to 1917. In 1917 he went to work for the Herreshoff Manufacturing Co., Bristol, Rhode Island. From 1920 to 1928 he was self-employed. From 1928 to November 1931 he was at Eldredge-McInnis, Inc., Boston, Massachusetts. After 1931 he was self-employed and later worked for the army during World War II. He continued to design sailing yachts until his death.
