    Hi,

I think the CSF of the First 45f5 is not completely correct.

Beneteau Brochure says displacement is: 10500kg, which is 23148 pounds.

Brochure says max beam is 425cm, which is 13.94ft

Brochure can still be downloaded from Beneteau heritage website.

According to the CSF formula, the CSF should be 13.94/(23148/64)^0.333 = 1.96

Sailboatdata is now mentioning: 2.06. Caused by too high beam and too low displacement.

This slight difference can be important for regulations in joining ocean crossings. Of course the boat itself is perfectly fine for Blue Water.

    Hope this is helpful.

    Peter

Thanks for reaching out. We have a brochure from the USA which reported the specs we had in our 45f5 record. Looking into your comment, we checked out the French brochure, also another French with UK (English) brochure. They matched what you reported. Beneteau being a French company, we updated our record. The CSF now shows 0.78 (based on the formula we have), definitely blue water capable!

Oops, I forgot to “update” after revising the specs. The calculations in the 45f5 record are correct now, including a CSF of 1.96
