Hi there – we own a 1978 48’ Soverel ketch. There were 19 of these built by Soverel Marine, Inc. in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. I am trying to hunt down specific information on my hull number to find out if the initial taxes were paid when the boat was originally sold. Anyone have any information about how to find these records? Thanks!

Taxes paid would depend upon who the boat was sold to and where they berthed it. If the boat is Documented you should be able to get an Abstract of Title from the USCG which would show the chain of ownership. I think it costs $25USD.
