The SONNET is 2 person one-design racing dinghy (with a scow type hull), originally intended for the home builder (a fiberglass version was also available for a few years), mostly seen in South Africa.
Originally intended for the home builder using 4 standard (4×8) sheets of plywood. At one time, active fleets existed in South Africa, Germany, and Holland.
One trapeze permitted.
The DABCHICK is a trainer, originally designed for the home builder, sailed in South Africa and Australia.
LOA above is from a Barnett Boat Company brochure. Current builder, Windward Boatworks, lists LOA: 12′ 2″ to extensions of rub rail.
