Traditional open cockpit day boat. Based on an earlier version designed for plywood construction.
Length w/bowsprit: 20’/6.1m.
Ketch (balanced lug) or gaff head sloop.
Ballast consists of sacks filled with gravel.

Though only a handful were were built, (in the 1920’s) to the original plans, this became one of Atkins most influential designs.
The best known boat, said to be based on the ERIC design is Robin Knox-Johnston’s ‘Suhaili’, which made the first single handed non-stop voyage around the world.
