Glastron (USA)
1956 -
Founded by Bill Hammond who turned a garage based business into one of the largest fiberglass boat builders in the world and a true innovator in the industry.
It's involvement with the building of sailboats was never more than a fling, and the tooling for their Spirit line was actually purchased from another company (North American Yachts).
As of 2012, Glastron was still in business building powerboats.
