Norstar Yachts, founded by Gary Nordtvedt, began as semi-custom builder of pilothouse and flybridge powerboats ranging from 30 to 36 feet. They added the sailboat lineup with two Robert Perry designs, formerly the Nordic 40 and 44, when fuel prices soared in 2009.
Nordic Yachts, founded by Gary's brother Steve was in business from 1977 - 1991. Steve later joined his brother Gary at Norstar Yachts.
