Seaquest Ltd was formed in 1993 by Mike & Dawn Eaton, with the original factory based in Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom.
The original 32 foot yacht the SJ320 was built to close a gap in the market for a production racer cruiser yacht. Designer Stephen Jones was commissioned to design the yacht to Mikes specification with the first SJ320 launched and built in 1994.

The Seaquest Prima 38 was the next boat to be put into production. Again teaming up with Designers Stephen Jones and Jonathan Sherwill.

In 2000 Seaquest were approached by internationally renowned designers Reichel-Pugh to build a 36 ft racer cruiser, the Seaquest 36 (later the RP 36).

In late 2005 the operations were moved to Dubai following the formation of a joint venture with MKM Commercial Holdings LLC, headed by Sheikh Mana Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum, a member of the Dubai Royal family.

In 2013, Mike Eaton left Seaquest to established Eaton Marine.
