Founded subsequent to the fuel crisis and recession of the early 1970's that brought the recreational boat building industry to the edge of collapse. It brought the builders Jouet, Lanaverre, Arcoa, and a few others under one roof in order to combine dealer networks and to provide other economies of scale.
(Arcoa, a manufacturer of powerboats stayed in business in to the 21st century.)

Although we have listed earlier boats under this heading, it is thought that Yachting France did not come into being until 1970.
Next to Beneteau, Yachting France was the largest French producer of fiberglass sailing yachts for a number of years.
