Alan F. Hill

1934 - present

Noted English designer who was at the forefront in the development of production fiberglass sailing yachts in the UK.
According to Hill himself, his interest and talent for design developed, in part, through his study and experimentation with sailing model yachts.
At an early age he had gone to work at the Thornycraft shipyard. Later he worked with Robert Clark, (best known as the designer of Gipsey Moth III for Sir Francis Chichester)
It was with the TRIDENT 24, and a chance meeting with Eric White, founder of Marine Contruction Ltd. (Marcon) that his career as a yacht designer was born.
