I know both SBD and Wiki (Used SBD as source) say Catalina made 5866 hulls and were last built in 1994.  However, my 89 is hull #5894. Here is a pic of another 89 hull #5989. I’ve been around C25 groups for over a decade and don’t believe I’ve ever seen one built beyond 1991. After 1990, it is thought that Catalina stopped mass production and only a few custom orders were built.

So, I can’t tell you what is the last hull number, or last year built, but I can tell you without question that the numbers listed are incorrect. 😉

Thanks for your info. We believe you are correct and that Catalina ended production of the 25 in 1990. We’ve updated our record in that regard. The number built is another issue. Looking into this, we found Practical Sailor’s review of the C25 reports 5,332 hulls. We also know that hulls and sail numbers are often different and not always sequential. Could you share your HIN? If the serial number portion of your HIN matches your sail number that would be a good indicator.

For sure there are far more than mine, 5894 hulls. I would not see any reason for Catalina to skip any numbers. If Catalina didn’t publish it, then the only way to know with a rough idea is through Owner listings. They have listed their hull ID’s on the community website. There are several 1991 models in there. Just filter the search for Catalina 25. I snapped a screenshot of the list:
