    The info on the Hobie 3.5 needs to be corrected, while this model is based on the HOBIE 14, (in a sense) and most of the rest of the description sounds correct, the length was NOT 14′, this model was a smaller version of the 14′ scaled down to 11′ 4.5″ (3.5 Meters, thus the 3.5 name) LOA. They were truly the HOBIE 14 scaled down to a size for a smaller sailor to find easier to sail. Kind of a cute boat, but a true Hobie! I have attached a scan from a 1975 issue of SAIL Magazine introducing this

    Thanks for the heads-up on our error. We have adjusted the LOA to 11′ 6″ (11.5 ft). We also adjusted the displacement to 160 lbs. Interestingly, in looking into this, we found a Hobie brochure from 1977 calling the boat the Hobie 11.
