Referred to here is the LIS Dinghy (Jolle) though it actually has a small low cuddy containing 2 berths.
There are two other variations on the same hull:
LIS-JOLLENKREUZER’ in 1967, has a small cabin (with 2 berths and a table).
With the LIS-FAMILY, the hull was widened slightly with a longer larger cabin and shorter cockpit.
The cockpit became self bailinng in 1978.
Class rules for the LIS allow the use of 1 trapeze.
Seen mostly in Germany but also exported to Canada. (LIS 500 CRUISER)
Gade Marine is the original and current builder. (www.gade-boote.de)

The CONGER has it’s origins with the US built (Pearson), Alberg designed HAWK 16, though significantly modified.

An early, light weight, low cost yet high performance dinghy.
The single chine, slab sided hull simplified construction for the amateur builder.
An unfinished, bare hull version was also available.
Though several hundred were built and raced as a class for a few years, it seems to have been eclipsed in favor of the similar but slightly larger SEAFLY, from the same builder which sold in larger numbers and was later offered in fiberglass.
An excellent web site, seaflymemories.com relates in greater detail, what is known of both boats, which today are rarely seen.

Moores of Wroxham
