The majority of these boats were lost in a boatyard fire in 1974, effectively destroying a class that had raced on Long Island Sound (Manhasset Bay) since they were first imported from Norway in 1955.
Many thanks to the William Tripp Design Office for providing images and general information concerning this yacht.
Designed as a replacement for an earlier BEMBRIDGE REDWING (1897). The REDWING is not a strict one-design as owners are free to experiment with different rigs within a total Sail Area Limitation.
Derived from the SNAPDRAGON 670
Sloop or ketch.
The ISLANDER 30 is a raised deck version of the ISLANDER 29.
Replaced with an entirely different ISLANDER 30 in 1970. (ISLANDER 30-2).
Also available with a sloop rig. More than likely another version of the SEAFARER 45.
The literature offered this yacht in various stages of construction.
