Of approximately 14 of this class built for New York Y.C. members, 6 survive as of 2006.

A motorsailer version (ALO 96 MS) was also available.

Despite the Scandinavian pedigree, the Udell class was started by the Chicago Yacht Club as a version of 22 square meter intended for one design racing on the great lakes. The first boats were built at Kungsörs Boatyard (Sweden).
