Closely resembling a mini ACC boat, the SM40 was designed specifically for the World Match Racing Tour.

The Foundation 36 was designed in 1995 to create a new fleet for the inaugural World Match Racing Championships held in Perth, Western Australia. The original fleet is now used for the Monsoon Cup in Malaysia, while the fleet in Perth has developed into a club racer fleet of some 40 boats.

The KM36 is available in two different configurations. The Match Race version will be used for a new round of the World Match Racing Tour, part of which to be held in Korea.
