Sailstar called PIONEER the ‘deluxe, heavy duty version’ of the EXPLORER 17 which was available with a steel centerboard or cast iron keel and sold at a slightly higher price. Very few seem to have been built.

This was the first model from Sovereign Yacht Corp after they purchased the tooling originally used to build the S2 7.0.

Fixed keel variant of the KELLS 23 was actually advertised as the COASTER 23. (also trailerable).
The MINETTE was available with three different decks:
A day sailor version with a molded combing at the forward end of the open cockpit.
Day sailor with a small cuddy at mast partners.
Raised/flush deck with slightly lowered sheer aft.
