Peterson design #56 IOR 1/4 ton. (IOR 18′)
An ELITE version was introduced (1982) with a different interior layout and transom hung rudder. Later still was a more cruising oriented version called the SEAWAY 787. All shared the same basic hull. Built and mostly seen in Australia.
Hull: Lifting Keel
formerly Drop Keel.
Initially designed as a kit boat for amateur builders using the ‘Prefix’ build system, (glass moldings with pre-cut plywood panels).
The H22 is now being built of glass sandwich construction in Latvia.
At least one class racing fleet exists in Italy.
Asym.Spin. area: 147 sf’.
It is reported that the molds for the BONGO 15 were destroyed in a fire so it’s unlikely that more than the initial 43 will be built.
Some had fractional rigs. A BMW diesel was offered as an option.
Thanks to the designer for providing corrections.
