Both type 1 and type 2 are based on the same hull with different sheer and coachroof.
Commissioned by Seawanhaka Corinthian YC, (Long Island, NY) for one-design racing and delivered beginning in 1916. More were built by Herreshoff until the late 1920’s.
Over the years, a number of reproductions have been built based on this original design. The drawing here shows the ‘marconi’ sloop version adopted in the 1930’s.

Design based on the orginal 1932 TAHITI KETCH with redesigned rig by Crealock (cutter or ketch). Many were sold in ‘kit’ form for owner completion. Dreadnought Boatworks was located in Carpenteria CA, USA.
An adaptation by William Atkin of an earlier type by Colin Archer. Several similar versions were built by others using various materials including wood and ferro-cement. Most closely resembles the Atkin INGRID 38. Similar to others including ALAJUELA 38, ORCA 38.
