First available in wood, then with FG hulls with wood coachroof and deck. By 1970, an all glass version was available. It is thought that the glass boats were molded by Tyler Boat Co. Ltd. and finished and fitted out by other yards.
Hull: Long keel w/trans. hung rudder
Folkboat style
Also referred to as SCOD.
An adaptation of a William Atkin design, (specifically similar to INGRID, GOUCHO.)
The Mark II version featured a different rig (designed by Raymond Richards)
Number built by varying accounts: between 70 and 80 including those sold as bare hulls or kits.
Boats to this same design were built by others using various materials including wood and ferro-cement.
An early introductory builder’s brochure from 1973 lists the following:
Displacement: 26,000 lbs
Ballast; 11,000 lbs

From builders brochure.
Prairie Boat Works was located in Clearwater, FL, USA.
Said to be based on the THISTLE design from William Atkin and adapted for fiberglass by William Crealock for Kendall Yacht Corp.(1967). An earlier design, the KENDALL 32, has a flush deck. Westsail added the trunk cabin. Of the 834 hulls built, the first 31 being Kendall 32’s, some 400 were sold as kits or bare hulls. As would be expected, rig dimensions, ballast material and other details vary.
LOD: 30.92ft.
Early versions had a 4 foot bow sprit. This was later increased to 5 feet (known as MK II’s).
Thanks to Larry Webber for information on the number built and the bow sprit.
Length w/bowsprit: 35.5′.
