The Vancouver 27 was first built on a semi-production basis by Tradewind Boats in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia,CAN, followed by Philbrooks Shipyard and finally Seair Marine Ltd of British Columbia. In 1988, these molds were destroyed and construction of the boat ceased in North America.
Later, the design was built in England as a collaboration of Pheon Yachts Ltd. and Northshore Yachts Ltd..
Originally designed for Kaiser Gale Force Yachts which sold the molds to Allied Boat Co. After changing the cabin top and port arrangement, the first boat appeared in 1962.
Early builders under contract were Lunn Laminates of Port Washington, NY and F.L. Tripp & Sons, Westport, MA.
(Allied eventually had it’s own large plant in the Catskills, NY.)
The SEAWIND was the first, as well as one of the last, boats built by Allied Boat Company. In 1978 it was brought back into production and actually built simultaneously with the newer SEAWIND II.

OFFSHORE 26 is a name given to more than one distinct model, built by Cheoy Lee Shipyard. Dimensions and description shown here are for the earlier version, a folkboat variant, with transom hung rudder, built of wood, and similar to what later came to be known as the FRISCO FLYER (of which there were a number of versions). See FRISCO FLYER for what that boat looks like.
Another OFFSHORE 26, built of FG and introduced in 1969 appears to be a different design, possibly based on the NEWELL CADET, (also sold by Cheoy Lee as the OFFSHORE 27.)
Neither boat, under this name, appear to have been built in great numbers.
