Also called CONWAY FIFE ONE DESIGN. (Not to be confused with the CONWAY ONE DESIGN.) Still raced at Royal Anglesey Yacht Club. Most of original 15 built at Bangor are still sailing. In recent years 22 G.R.P. boats have been added to the fleet.

The CONWAY ONE DESIGN was built specifically to race in the waters of Conway Bay. (Wales, UK) The first boat had a lifting keel or centreboard, but was changed to a fixed keel. 2 were built of moulded GRP in the late 1980’s. Most of the original boats are still sailing (2010).

Commissioned by Royal Corinthian Yacht Club (Burnham on Crouch,Essex) members as a boat suitable to the conditions on the River Crouch. A fleet of fourteen started racing in the spring of 1935. The Menai Strait One Design is sailed at Royal Anglesey Yacht Club and intended specifically for the waters of the Menai Strait in North Wales. It is built of mahogany on oak frames, has removable internal ballast, and a lifting centerboard. (Disp. is an estimate.)
16 boats were built between 1938 and 1952. Most are still sailing.
