Sailstar called PIONEER the ‘deluxe, heavy duty version’ of the EXPLORER 17 which was available with a steel centerboard or cast iron keel and sold at a slightly higher price. Very few seem to have been built.
Deep draft: 6.17′ Popular with the charter trade.

The PRESTIGE 34 was a shortened version of this same design with a winged keel (cast by Swarbrick Bros.).
There was also another version called the HOLIDAY 36 built in the Phillipines.

In 2005, the NYYC joined with Nautor’s Swan to produce the NYYC 42, called the Club Swan 42 outside the NYYC. The initial order was 36 yachts, 25 sold to NYYC members.
It is thought that at least 200 examples of this design have been built around the world.
A CB version of the Herreshoff FISH CLASS. A number have built of wood and plans are available.
A FG version was built by Fairey Marine (UK) in the early 1960’s and imported to US by George O’Day.
