A slightly modified version called the LORD HELMSMAN II was introduced in the mid 1980s. It featured a higher coach roof, slightly different rig and a standard Yanmar 2GM diesel.

In 2018 Beneteau purchased a controlling stake in the Slovenian builder Seascape, bringing all Seascape models into the fold of its First range.

The WEE SCOT was designed for junior sailors and popular on Long Island Sound (east coast USA) before WW II. Fleets also existed at Deer Isle and Sorrento Maine.
A modernized rig, designed by Philip Rhodes, was adopted sometime in the mid 1930’s.
