THE BOOMAROO 22 is similar to the CATALINA 22 built under license in Australia.

Aft cockpit version of the earlier CHALLENGER ANACAPA 40/42. The first hull was layed up by John Leeper of San Pedro Boat Works (Anacapa Boat Co.?). A short time later, San Pedro Boat Works closed and the molds ended up in the hands of Challenger Yachts although it does not appear they built any aft cockpit models. In 1972, Garry Powell (Acapulco Yachts) ordered a set of parts to make his Acapulco 40 “Oriana.”. He then bought the molds and built at least 30 in Oregon through the 70’s.
Thanks to Derek JEAN for updated historical information.

This boat was also called the ISLANDER 23 in the UK. (Not to be confused with the Crealock designed ISLANDER 23 built in the US.)

Also available with a ketch rig.

Also known as the CONTINENTAL 25.
