Same hull as the CARIBBEAN 35, introduced in 1965, but different deck and layout.

The Schock 40 is the first production boat featuring the CBTF™ (Canting ballast twin foil) system. Developed and patented by DynaYacht, the CBTF™ system, according to the builder, reduces the amount of ballast normally found on a boat this size by 50%.
Originally NELSON MAREK 55. 2 built at Geraghty Marine (Geraghty, located in San Diego, CA was in business from 1982-1989). Molds acquired by W.D.Schock (who built 2 more between 1990 – 1991).
The ERICSON 38-200 shared the same hull, keel, rudder, with earlier versions (ERICSON 38x) but had a new deck and interior with a recessed companionway.
