My understanding is that the Westsail 39 and the Mariner 39 (Perry) use the same design from Robert Perry. I have read that Westsail folded as a company after a few hulls were laid up and the molds/design were sold to a company that subsequently produced 30 more as the Fair Weather Mariner 39. It seems incorrect to list different metrics for draft, displacement, comfort rating, etc. on two boats of the same design ?

Hi Michael, You are basically correct about the 39’s history. The molds for the Fair Weather 39 were the Westsail 39 molds. We reached out to the Westsail Owners Association who was kind enough to send us builder’s documents from P&M Worldwide (who purchased the molds at the Westsail auction). While there are still a couple of minor differences between what was reported by P&M and what was reported by Fair Weather Mariner (pretty common in circumstances such as this), the two records now match each builder’s reported specs.
    Thanks for reaching out.
    Bruce
