Originally called the PUFFIN PACER after the builder that first commissioned the design. (Puffin Paints and Glues in the UK). In the mid 1970's it was renamed PACER in the UK, with Australia following suit some years later. Triple chine hull originally intended to be built of plywood using the 'stitch and glue' method, but also available in fiberglass.
