Notes

First conceived as a cat rigged single-hander, Paul Elvstrom soon changed the design to become a 2 man sloop and it had a brief production run as such.
The photo (above) shows Elvstrom sailing the first TRAPEZ at the IYRU trails (for a new single-handed dinghy) held at Weymouth (UK) in 1965. Though clearly the fastest of the new boats in the fleet, it failed to gain support, partly because of its complexity. (The fact that Elvstrom sailed the boat himself may have actually hurt the boats prospects since many believed that anything sailed by him would end up a winner on the race course.)
