Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterHello Barrie,
Thanks for letting us know about the Catfisher.
We don’t use information from For Sale ads as the specs can change from boat to boat. The good news is we have a builder’s brochure so we were able to add this model to our database.
You can find it here: https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/catfisher-28-ms
Thanks again.
Bruce
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterThanks Ben, we appreciate the update.
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterHi, Thanks for the heads-up on the error message. It appears to be related to records that do not have a displacement number associated with them. We have our dev team working on it. The problem should be resolved soon.
Bruce
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterYou may be aware of the site for the Narrasketuck One Design Association but just in case… http://tuck1design.tripod.com.
Perhaps someone there can help you?

Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterThanks @oscarkramer. Looks like we had a missing digit for the displacement of the 48S. 3,527 should have been 35,274 lbs. We’ve updated the record. Thanks for the heads-up.
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterHello Ed, Your HIN should be on the starboard side of your transom near the top. It is often hard or impossible to see on older boats as they often get painted over. Just FYI… it’s 12 characters. Yours will begin with SYX (the MIC code for Starboard Yacht co). If Starboard Yachts incorporated the hull number into its HIN, it would be part of the middle 5 characters. The final 4 characters will be the build date.
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterHello jme, The the comfort ratio equation is: D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam↑1.33), where displacement is expressed in pounds, and length is expressed in feet.
This equation is designed as an indication of how quickly a boat will react to waves. There are not a lot of 50 footers with a CR as low as 30 and not a lot of 25 footers with a CR as high as 30, although both exist.
If you want, use refine search on Sailboatdata.com to find them. You can also try using the Compare tool on the site to see up to three boats at once. In Compare, use refine search to narrow your results, then Sort by LOA and finally select the boats to compare.
Hope this helps.
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterThanks Bill. We really appreciate you sending us this link.
We try to stick with builder or designer information as rig and boat dimensions can vary slightly for individual boats but we’ll take a look and use what we can.
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterHello Ken. Our information is only 6 of these were built so finding an owner will be difficult. One thing we’d like to suggest is to create a topic from the Polaris 43 page on Sailboatdata.com (https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/polaris-43). That way if anyone visits that page, but not the forum, there is a chance they might see your topic link and connect from there. Just thought.

Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterIt might not seem like it but this is a tough question to answer. Prices vary by model year, quality, location, sail inventory, engine hours, even by motivation (either seller’s or buyer’s), just to name a few things.
We don’t get into pricing but can tell you brokers have access to an MLS which includes the actual sale price of boats (not the listing price). Boats on Yacht World are for sale through brokers and, in many cases, priced with their input. This input will often include past sales plus some room to negotiate.
There is also NADA guides which can help as a guideline (https://www.nadaguides.com/Boats) for many boats.
Sorry we can’t be more specific, hope this helps a little.

Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterHey guys, just fyi… Clicking on the “help ?” on the upper right side of the Sailboat Calculations box will also give you an explanation of the different ratios/formulas.
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterHi Captain Den. We have another way which might also help you reach Nord 80 owners. If you go to our record page for the boat (https://sailboatdata.com/sailboat/nord-80), scroll to the bottom and start a new topic. That way, anyone else who goes to that page will see you are looking for other owners. Just a thought.
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterI can’t help you with that but I understand the US importer for Dean Catamarans was The Multihull Company; http://www.multihullcompany.com. Maybe someone there can help?
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterWe’ve found information on the Hermann 19, the Hermann 20 and Hermann Cat. All will be added as well as a page in the builder’s section for Ted Hermann’s Boat Shop. Unfortunately, we have not found any information on the Hermann 39 schooner you’re looking for. We’ll keep looking.
Bruce_SailboatdataKeymasterHello Lindsay, thanks for posting! We’d love to include the Gitana 43 in our database but we are having trouble finding what we would consider is verified information. For example, we found specs posted on another Gitana 43 which states the LOA is 13.1m, draft is 2.2m. Seemingly small differences but we strive for accuracy. (It also states a beam of 3.87m.). If you happen to have any more detailed information you would like to share, perhaps from a manual, brochure, review, book, etc, please feel free to contact us.
BTW, we also love the pic of Blue Heron. We’d include that in the record as well if that’s okay with you. -
