KeymasterThanks for the heads-up. We’ve updated the Kingfisher 30 record.

KeymasterI do not live in Canada but from what I can tell, your boat is required to have a builder’s compliance sticker affirming the the boat was built to Canadian small vessel regulations, but only vessels under 6m (19’8″) are required to include:
• what motor sizes are safe (outboard powered vessels only);
• how many people can be on board; and
• how much weight the boat can hold.I could be wrong. So here is where I think you’ll find what you are looking for:
The Transport Canada Safe Boating Guide https://tc.canada.ca/sites/default/files/2024-03/tp_511e.pdf
The actual rules are in the Small Vessel Regulations:
https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2010-91/
pursuant to the: CANADA SHIPPING ACT, 2001The specific regulations are at:
https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2010-91/page-9.html#h-770340and over on the page at:

KeymasterThanks Oscar. We’ve updated the interior photo for the B&C 37. In researching this, we found builder information that didn’t correspond to some specs in the record so we updated those as well.

KeymasterThanks for your question. The LOA reported includes overhangs. Hull length is 34’8″ / 10.56 m. We’ve updated the record to include both specs.

KeymasterThanks for sending this information. We’ve made some changes to the Rogger 35 record but have not added a 32 yet. We’ll add that shortly.
One thing we discovered is that Halmatic built the Hulls which were then sent to Eista for finishing. That is according to the Rogger Motorsailer Club (https://www.rogger.nl).
Thanks again.Bruce_Sailboatdata
KeymasterHi. We added the Bali Catsmart and the Aventura last November. The Bali 4.2 was already in the database when you sent the note.
We haven’t added the Thira 80 yet but will do it soon. Thanks for the reminder.Bruce_Sailboatdata
KeymasterI’m happy to mention that Mull designed Sorcery in his bio.
I’m guessing you know of this site but just in case, here’s a lot of information on Sorcery. Pics and articles… https://www.histoiredeshalfs.com/Maxis%20Monos/Sorceery.htm
My first boat was a Snipe. I’ve tried Lightnings but, to be honest, wasn’t a big fan. Most of my racing was J/24’s. Then I aged into Sonars. I’m now trying my hand at Melges 15 racing. Funny, my boats are getting smaller as I get older.

KeymasterThanks for reaching out. Very cool shot of your boat. I’m glad I don’t have to pull that spinnaker down!
Regarding listing your yacht, it’s our understanding that most, if not all, boats designed and built for IOR Maxi racing are one-off designs. Is that the case for Sorcery? Sailboatdata is a database of production or series built boats. We like to know at least three hulls were built from a design before we add the record.
There are a couple of exceptions but those are for historically significant designs.
If multiple hulls were built from Mull’s design, we’d be happy to add the record. Please just let us know.
Thanks,
Bruce

KeymasterHi Richard,
We think your best option is to contact someone at the Pearson Yachts Portal (https://www.pearsonyachts.org). It’s a terrific resource for all things Pearson.Bruce_Sailboatdata
KeymasterSome of this is way above my pay grade but what I can tell you is ballast is included in displacement. Also, it is very likely the boat’s actual displacement is greater than what the builder reported for a new build. Especially if the boat’s hull was underwater for months.

KeymasterOur site is limited in that we can only display one rig type. In cases like this, we mention there are other rig options available in the Notes section.
For the Victoria 34, from the documents we saw, it appeared the rig type was the owners choice and neither was “standard.” So we reported the cutter rig and mentioned a sloop rig was also offered.
All that said, we changed the reported rig type to masthead sloop and mentored the cutter rig in the Notes.
Thanks again.

KeymasterHello Mintaka,
Thanks for reaching out.
Victoria Marine had Northshore build the hulls which were then fitted out by Victoria. We agree the way we were reporting that fact was confusing.
We’ve done some editing which will, hopefully, eliminate that confusion.

KeymasterWe found a Yorktown Yachts ad in the Jan. 1976 edition of Cruising World which indicates a 27 gal. fuel tank.
We hope the attached is not too small to read.Attachments:

KeymasterHello Roux,
Thanks for the heads-up on the Lacoste 42 specs. It appears we definitely had the ballast and rig measurements wrong.
Your image didn’t load as it appears the file size was too big, Currently we only allow images with a file size under 500 KB. We’re looking to increase that but in the meantime, if you can, please reduce the size of your image so we can see it.
Or email it to us at contact@sailboatdata.com
Thanks again.

KeymasterThanks for reaching out Jose. We’ve corrected our typo (the correction may not show up on the home page search for a while but it will soon).
